Background and Objective: Bricolage identity is one of the new emerging phenomena that, based on the modern cultural and social changes that occurred in the global system, has affected the identity behaviors of young people in most parts of the world. Bricolage identity in Iranian society combines elements of Islamic, Iranian, and modern identity.
Methodology: The present study was conducted to investigate and sociologically explain bricolage identity among young people aged 18-30 in Yasuj city, with an emphasis on the social psychology of plastic surgery, using a survey method. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire from a sample of 350 people using a multi-stage cluster sampling method from young people in Yasuj city. The validity of the questionnaire was based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient (bricolage identity 0.72) and its validity was based on the opinions of experts.
Findings: The research findings show that there is a significant relationship between the acceptance of globalized culture, lifestyle, cultural consumption, and the use of social networks with bricolage identity. Accordingly, the direct and indirect effects of these variables were examined.
Conclusion: According to this research, the cultural consumption of young people has a positive effect on bricolage identity and its various dimensions. In fact, the more global, cultural, and differentiated the cultural consumption of young people, the higher the level of bricolage identity in them. Identity in the traditional world originated from specific and fixed semantic sources that were generally local in nature, but as a result of cultural globalization, these fixed and fixed semantic sources have also lost their semantic legitimacy. The growth of virtual social networks and digital technologies has caused cultural elements to spread rapidly around the world and become available to different people in local spaces
