Introduction & Objective: Considering the importance of
reproductive health and in order to determine the knowledge of girl
high school students about several aspects of reproductive health
the present study was done.
Materials & Methods: Using cluster random sampling, 546
questionnaires were filled in eight high schools in Shiraz.
Results: The results showed that these adolescents have
acceptable knowledge about appropriate age for first pregnancy
(mean age: 23), number of desired children (86% agreed with two
or one) and the suitable interval between the birth of them (mean
interval: 3.7 years). On the other hand their knowledge about the
highest permitted age for pregnancy and sexually transmitted
infections (STI) was disappointing, 28% of them agreed with
pregnancy between age 35-50 and 31.3% had not any information
