Abstract

Ovarian fibroma is the most common solid tumor of the ovary, though its association with Meigs' syndrome is rare. Patients typically present with abdominal discomfort, and there have been no prior reports linking ovarian fibroma to groin pain. Initial diagnosis is usually made via ultrasound, which has shown a high rate of diagnostic errors. CT scan and histopathological evaluation can aid in confirming the diagnosis. The standard treatment involves tumor removal through laparotomy or laparoscopy. In this report, we present a case of ovarian fibroma in a patient who presented with right groin pain. The mass originated from the right ovary and was attached to the retroperitoneum. The diagnosis of ovarian fibroma was confirmed through postoperative histopathological examination. The clinical presentation and diagnostic process in this case highlight the importance of intraoperative evaluation by a gynecologic oncologist and underscore the need for accurate diagnosis and improved management strategies in patients with ovarian fibroma.
